This month has been all about woodshedding. Sometimes as artists, we spend so much time performing songs that are already written, that we don't take time to learn new covers and write new songs. There's a lot that can be gained by learning cover songs. It's something that I used to shy away from... (Younger me: "I'm an original artist. I write my own music and I'm going to play MY songs!") ...but in reality, the cover songs are the ones that made us want to take up our instruments in the first place. Why not pay homage to them…
